Teaser

This came from Starry Night. I thought it looked fun!

SHARE with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
YOU also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
PLEASE avoid spoilers!

Amazon.com 4-for-3

So there's this evil thing that I like to call Amazon.com and they have this thing called a 4-for-3 promotion. It is a VERY bad thing!! Mostly because you can go to Amazon looking for a particular thing and planning on not spending much money, and the book you're looking for happens to be an eligible product. So now you're weighing the pros and cons of just buying the one book vs. finding three more and "saving" money. So, I was looking for books. Just a couple books, and I figured it would be fine. I ended up buying not a couple books, but 16 books. Which was not what I had intended (not to mention, definitely not something my husband would appreciate). So this is what I ended up with:
Bras & Broomsticks by Sarah Mlynowski
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
Crank by Ellen Hopkins
Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, Persuasion, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Witch & Curse by Nancy Holder
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
A Great and Terrible Beauty, and Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black

Now that was a little more than I bargained for!

Trying this again!

Okay, so I've tried blogging before. It didn't work. I'm trying it again with fewer expectations this time. So first I'll tell you about myself. My name is Melissa. I'm married (to Ian) and I have two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Lena. Sadie is 2 and has about a million times more energy than I do. Lena is 8-months old and is just getting into the really fun stage (except for the teething). I'm going to school right now, taking prerequisites in a better late than never attempt to get into medical school. My only hobby (besides playing with my kids) is reading, but only because I consider shopping a vice rather than a hobby. My current wish for life is to move out of the town where I grew up and make a life for me and my family somewhere nice. This blog will basically be a bunch of completely random stuff. Whatever I'm feeling at the time, I'll write about, whether it's books or music or my kids. So I hope you enjoy it and get something out of it.
